The Stairway to Heaven, Hawaii
Also known as the Haʻikū Stairs, The Stairway to Heaven is a magnificent hiking trail on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. There are a total of 3922 steps through the Ko’olau mountain range that offer Travel Photographers stunning views across the coast line.
Construction on the stairs started in 1942 as a way to access the high mountain ranges for the US Navy to operate radio communications throughout the pacific. In the early 1950’s the stairs were upgraded from wooden to metal.
Currently access to the Stairway to Heaven is illegal and surrounded by “no trespassing” signs however it is common for keen adventurers to ignore this and complete the hike. Caution must be taken on the stairs as there was significant damaged caused in a major storm that passed through Hawaii in 2015.

Mount Everest Base Camp, Nepal
Mount Everest Base Camp is arguably one of the best hikes in the world, and this is well deserved. Mount Everest is located in remote Nepal in the Himalayan Mountain Range.
The hike to Base Camp is spectacular and Photographers will venture through remote villages and valleys while learning the way of the sherpa.
Travel Photographers can expect hard physical exertion, world class scenery and an amazing cultural experience.
Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
For the those that love the feeling of reaching the top of a mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro is truly one of the best hiking adventures in the world. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the Africa continent and can provide Travel Photographers spectacular views that are truely unique.
Located in Tanzania, East Africa, Travelers can experience the epic scenery of the mountain upon touching down at the airport as it is in the open African planes. Photographers can expect to climb through rainforest, alpine lands and finally a rocky accent before reaching the summit of 5895 meters (19340 ft)
The Kokoda Track, Papua New Guinea
The Kokoda Track is a brutal yet humbling hike that stretches over 96 Kilometres through remote Papua New Guinea. The track is single file and takes hikers through rugged landscapes while being exposed to the cold, wet and humid environment.
This hike is not for the faint hearted however Photographers will experience a humbling and peaceful journey and be confronted with the emotions of war.
The Kokoda Track was the site for a number of battles between the Allied Forces and the Japanese through World War II. Hikers will visit war memorials and gain an everlasting respect for the soldiers who fought in this remote and hostile location.
Mount Toubkal, Morocco
Reaching the summit of a Mountain is a truly amazing adventure and can often provide amazing scenery perfect for the Travel Photographer. One of the greatest hiking adventures is Mount Toubkal, Morocco. Mount Toubkal reaches a summit of 4167 meters (13671 ft) and set within the Atals Mountains.
Photographers will travel through small mountain villages, flood plains and stunning ridge lines and will be rewarded with views across the Atals range and even the Sahara Desert.
